Questions

Eyelash Extension FAQs

Everything you need to know about lash appointments, preparation, fills, and aftercare.

How long do appointments take?

Appointment times vary by service. Full sets take approximately 2–3 hours and fill appointments approximately 1–2 hours. Please arrive on time to ensure there is enough time to complete your service.

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Arrive with clean lashes free of mascara, eyeliner, or eye makeup, and avoid oily skincare products around the eyes that day. Limit caffeine if you're sensitive to it, since it can make it harder to keep your eyes still, and be prepared to keep your eyes closed throughout the appointment. New clients: complete your New Client Consultation Form before your first appointment.

Can I wear mascara?

No. Please arrive with completely clean lashes and no eye makeup. Residue from mascara or eyeliner can affect lash retention and may reduce the time available for your application. Clients arriving with mascara or heavy eye makeup that requires additional cleansing will be charged a $15 lash bath/cleansing fee.

Can I get lash extensions if I have sensitive eyes?

Many clients with sensitive eyes can wear lash extensions. During your consultation, we'll discuss any allergies or sensitivities you may have. A patch test may be recommended; however, a patch test cannot guarantee that an allergic reaction will not occur.

How often should I get fills?

Most clients schedule fills every 2–3 weeks. If it has been more than 4 weeks since your last appointment, your service will typically be charged as a new full set.

What if I have an allergic reaction?

Although uncommon, allergic reactions can occur. If you experience redness, swelling, itching, or discomfort after your appointment, please contact me as soon as possible. If you experience severe swelling or difficulty breathing, seek immediate medical attention.

Can I bring a guest?

To provide a relaxing environment and accommodate limited studio space, guests are generally not permitted unless prior arrangements have been made.

Do you accept walk-ins?

No — Lashes by Lexi is by appointment only. Please use the online booking calendar to view current availability and schedule your appointment.

Do lash extensions damage my natural lashes?

When professionally applied and properly cared for, lash extensions should not damage your natural lashes. Following aftercare instructions and avoiding pulling or picking at your extensions will help keep your natural lashes healthy.

How do I make my lash extensions last longer?

Clean your lashes daily with a lash-safe cleanser, avoid oil-based makeup and skincare around your eyes, don't rub, pull, or pick at your extensions, brush daily with a clean spoolie, and schedule fills every 2–3 weeks.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Accepted payment methods will be listed during the booking process. Payment is due at the time of your appointment unless otherwise arranged.

Can I wear makeup after my appointment?

For the best retention, avoid getting your lashes wet or applying eye makeup for the first 24 hours after your appointment. After that, use only lash-extension-safe products and avoid oil-based makeup removers.

Can I choose the style of lashes I want?

Absolutely! During your consultation, we'll discuss your desired style, eye shape, natural lash health, and lifestyle to create a customized lash set that's perfect for you.

Can I get a fill if my lashes were done somewhere else?

No. To ensure consistent quality and maintain the health of your natural lashes, I do not perform fills on lash extensions applied by other artists. If you have existing extensions, I'd be happy to provide a lash removal followed by a new full set.
